Pro Timer For Active Mutual Fund Traders, Using Both Bull & Bear Positions in SPX & NDX Index Funds
Pro Timer is for active index fund market timers. This time proven strategy is designed to
achieve profits in both bull and bear markets by moving in and out of bullish and bearish S&P and Nasdaq index funds. Our market timing strategy uses Fib support and resistance analysis and Elliott Wave pattern analysis
to determine current and future market trends.
Once our analysis is confirmed by our proprietary trend indicators, Pro Timer goes either long (bullish position)
or short (bearish position). Buy and sell signals are based on a timing strategy that does not allow interpretation,
and that has a superb and carefully tested long term performance record.
The proprietary trend indicators make buy and sell decisions based on both the
S&P 500 Index - SPX, and the Nasdaq 100 Index - NDX. Pro Timer is always
invested in either long (bullish positions) or short (bearish positions), 50% in the NDX, and 50% in the SPX. To keep things simple, we track only the SPX and NDX indices below, not
the mutual funds.
Subscribers can use Rydex OTC & Arktos, Rydex Nova & Ursa, Profunds, or other S&P or OTC bull/bear index funds.
Note: Subscribers who prefer to trade either the SPX or NDX alone, without diversification, can do so by simply following
the buy/sell signals for either one. Long experience has shown us that diversification adds a level of safety to trading mutual funds.
If a subscriber absolutely "must" time only a single index,
just follow that specific index in Pro Timer. Either the
SPX or NDX can be traded individually. But we do recommend that
subscribers use Pro Timer as it was designed to be
used, which is with both indexes.
This strategy is designed to keep losses very small.
In 2002, the strategy made 14 SPX trades and 7 NDX trades. In 2003, the strategy made 16 SPX trades and 13 NDX trades.
When the criteria for this trading strategy
is met to go either long or short, we reverse our position. We are always fully invested. This does not make it more volatile. It has actually "reduced" volatility.
We also reduce volatility by being 50% invested in S&P 500 index funds and 50% invested in
Nasdaq 100 index funds (either bullish or bearish as needed) at all times. Drawdowns are thus smoothed out, and kept at a minimum, making
this strategy highly attractive to most investors and fund traders.
Emailed alerts are sent to all subscribers for every trade, and the Pro Timer report is also
updated, by 9PM, EST the evening "before" any change is executed.
The proprietary trend indicators used in this model create specific buy and sell signals. There is no emotion
involved in the decision making. The system has been backtested through the beginning of 2000 so that its performance in both bull and bear markets could be measured.
Its performance has been excellent, and is enhanced by its ability to profit in both bull and bear markets.
Pro Timer is designed to allow only very small losses and always be on the right side of all trends.
Market Timing will always generate a larger
number of buy and sell signals than a buy and hold approach to the markets. A longer term perspective should be used to judge our performance. The below charts
show the results of our ProTimer timing strategy which uses a diversified 50% S&P 500 bull or bear funds and 50% Nasdaq 100 bull and bear funds approach.
You can easily see the results that are achieved over time, but there were many periods that had multiple losing buy and sell signals. Market timing "will" have losing trades and
fund timers must be willing to stay the course in order to reap the benefits. Staying the course means following the signals for a year or better yet, two years.

You can see the results over time, but there were many periods that had multiple losing buy and sell signals.
For example: in the below charts, the Nasdaq had a nice 67% gain, but look at the percent of winning trades. Only 27 winners out of 63 trades over
the past three and one half years. Our strategies make large profits in trending markets and provide risk management in sideways markets.
Market timing "will" have losing trades and fund timers must be willing to stay the course in order to reap the benefits.
