Small Caps & Ishares Russell 2000 (AMEX: IWM) Leading Market Higher Says Market Timer Frank Kollar

Shares of exchange-traded fund Ishares Russell 2000 (AMEX: IWM) are rallying and this time small caps are leading the stock market higher. Current top holdings in Ishares Russell 2000 are, Plains Exploration & Production Company (NYSE: PXP), Joy Global Inc (NASDAQ: JOYG) and Crown Holdings (NYSE: CCK).
The Russell 2000 Index (RUT) and Ishares Russell 2000 had been weak for months. In fact they have lagged the major indexes since this current advance started early last summer. But the last two weeks have seen small caps and the Ishares Russell 2000 push sharply higher. On Wednesday they reached another new rally high and new 2007 high on expanding volume. Ishares Russell 2000 closed right at resistance on Wednesday, at $81.18. A solid close above this level could easily take this heavily traded ETF to $85.32 in coming weeks.
