Medimmune Inc (NASDAQ: MEDI) Breaks Below Long Term Support Says Market Timer Frank Kollar.
June 26, 2006 (FinancialWire) (By Frank Kollar)
Shares of Medimmune, Inc. (NASDAQ: MEDI) have been declining since March 30th, and are now off 27% from their 2006 highs. Weakness in the biotech sector has been a factor, but Medimmune’s losses are far greater than most in this sector.
Last week Medimmune said it plans to sell $1 billion in five- and seven-year convertible senior notes. On the day of the announcement shares lost almost 7%. Shareholders are not exactly enamored of this company.
But Medimmune shares have bigger problems ahead. Last week’s losses pushed this stock below a long-term support level at $27.50. Typically when a stock closes below support it reaches the next support. If this is the case, shares of Medimmune could fall to $25.00 a share, another 7% below last Friday’s close.
The Fibtimer.com (http://www.fibtimer.com) Stock Timing Strategy has listed Medimmune as a SELL since April 12th. We would avoid taking long positions in this stock until there is a confirmed change in trend.
