Invitrogen Corporation (NASDAQ: IVGN) On The Edge Says Market Timer Frank Kollar.
June 9, 2006 (FinancialWire) (By Frank Kollar)
Shares of Invitrogen Corporation (AMEX: IVGN), the developer, manufacturer and marketer of research tools to customers engaged in life sciences research, drug discovery, diagnostics and the commercial manufacture of biological products, have suffered over the past several months due to a weak biotech sector.
But since October 2005, share prices have held above a strong support level at $62.00. In fact, that support has been tested four times in the last seven months. Invitrogen appears headed for a fifth test.
This level is important for several reasons. First, any level that stops falling share prices four times over a seven-month period is a major support level. But this is also a Fib 61.8% retracement level, which means every Fib trader who follows Invitrogen will be watching it.
Should Invitrogen make a decisive close below $62.00 a share, shares could easily decline to $56.58, the next support level. At the same time, another reversal from support could result in a nice tradable rally for swing traders.
Invitrogen is on the edge, and whichever way it goes will likely forecast this stocks direction for the next several weeks. The Fibtimer.com (http://www.fibtimer.com) Stock Strategy is currently in a short position for Invitrogen .
